The Railway Children: effects on people, society & literature & the way it embodies
The Railway Children: effects on people, society & literature & the way it embodies ((effects on people, society & literature & the way it embodies the feminism)) In the 19th century, many different types of stories for younger people were being written. These were largely set in fantasy worlds, which were considered to be the ideal worlds for the imaginations of children. Edith Nesbit, on the other hand, wrote adventures about children in the world they shared with adults. In this way she was able to mark out her own territory in children’s fiction. The characters in The Railway Children are true to life and are portrayed in such a way that young readers find it easy to identify with them and sympathize with their emotions. Though Nesbit introduced elements of magic and fantasy into some of her stories, her children are psychologically real, and the situations they have to cope with, too, are real. For this reason Nesbit has been called "the first modern writer for children". The Railway Children effected the people and the society in very beautiful way by showing the characters misery in a very effective way that made the mother work as a writer to earn money, her writings effected the literature future at that time , women couldn't write or publish novels in the19th century and by this "The Railway Children" was a start for feminism to appear in that time in both society & literature. Today, Nesbit's great story The Railway Children still effecting our society. Publishers made a smart move by publishing " The Railway Children" as a great films, that gives a chance for young readers all over the world to continue to feel the identify with the free-spirited children whom she wrote about. |
